Andrea Seguraz’s practice operates at the intersection of botany, hydrological systems, and territorial memory, constructing relational cartographies through in situ research across ecologically fragile river landscapes. Working with native and medicinal plants shaped by extreme climates, she approaches botanical matter not as representation, but as a living archive.
Using eco-printing on paper, she develops environmental prints produced in direct dialogue with the landscapes from which their materials originate. River water, mineral salts, and botanical matter are not depicted but physically embedded within the work. Through hydrothermal processes, pigments, minerals, and organic compounds interact with the fibers of the paper, allowing natural forces to actively participate in the formation of the image.
Rather than depicting nature, her practice creates conditions for natural processes to inscribe themselves onto the surface of the work. The resulting images function as quiet ecological interfaces, opening a contemplative space where viewers may sense the fragile interdependence between territory, vegetation, and geological matter.
